I don't know anything about sound editing, but I keep hearing about BEAST, which isn't listed in that table.

I moved to Gentoo from Debian 2 years a go so dont know if they have .deb packages. with gentoo I just emerge and it compiles.

Personally, I am an Arour user, which is more geared toward multi-track recording. I don't do a whole lot of sound editing and/or looping and have found that Audacity hadles most everything I need in that area. I don't think it has all the bells and whistles that Acid has though.
